Current Workshops

A nationwide series of Photography Workshops raising funds for Syrian Refugee Children through UNICEF, NZ start Jan 28th in Auckland and finish 26th March in Otago (Catlins). Tickets must be purchased by donation through UNICEF.

Series general photography workshops with Xavier Radić are offered, each in different areas outdoors around New Zealand. Looking at many aspects of photography and how you can improve your own images, such as; Camera Settings, Macro/Close-up, Focus and Composition, but to mention some. Use these workshops to improve your own photography, knowledge of your camera and how to see.

Workshops run, 10.30am to 3.30pm (including 1 hour for lunch), during January, February and March 2016. Workshops are suitable for all ages, and also children aged 7 to 11 (accompanied by an adult). First half of each workshop is looking at the technical stuff with your camera and the second half taking photos with group and individual challenges. Workshops happen in all weathers.

Thursday 28th Jan 2016 Auckland Botanic Gardens: Meet in courtyard, motorway side of cafe, by Library.

Saturday 30th Jan 2016 Thames: Meet Band Rotunda in Victoria Park, end of Albert Street, Grahamstown.

Tuesday 02nd Feb 2016 Tauranga: Memorial Park, Fraser St carpark by model rail track.

Wednesday 03rd Feb 2016 Gisbourne: At top of Titirangi Domain, End of Queens Drive off Ranfurly Street.

Thursday 04th Feb 2016 Napier: At Perfume Point Recreational Reserve, East Pier off Nelson Quay.

Saturday 06th Feb 2016 Wellington: Karori Cemetery, off Karori Road by fire station, and come to the Michael Savage Memorial.

Tuesday 09th Feb 2016 Raumati: Queen Elizabeth Park, Mackay Entrance, off SHWY 1. Follow road to end, at back of beach (near toilets).

Saturday 13th Feb Nelson: Queens Gardens, in gardens near to the Suter Art Gallery central Nelson.

Tuesday 23rd Feb Christchurch: At Allandale on Banks Peninsula, at Picnic reserve on waterfront (Opposite 120 Governors Bay Teddington Road).

Tuesday 01st March Dunedin: at Ocean View Recreational Reserve, Brighton Beach Road.

Saturday 05th March Pounawea: Pounawea waterfront, Northern end of Park Lane, in the Catlins.

Saturday 12th March Lake Wakatipu: at Kingston, by old Kingston Flyer Station, end Kent Street.

Saturday 19th March Riverton: at Howells Point Recreation Reserve, end of Rocks Hwy under the lighthouse.

Saturday 26th March Kaka Point: near Balclutha in the Catlins, at Willsher Bay Domain Reserve on Esplanade Road.

10.30am to 3.30pm daily

What to Bring: Camera (any), spare battery, empty camera card, something to sit on (cushion, blanket, seat), tripod (if you have one), lunch & drink, dress warm (for weather conditions) and wear sensible footwear, raincoat (a plastic poncho from a $2 shop), sun hat. Printed receipt showing you have paid, ALL monies go to Unicef Syrian Refugee Collection.

Fees: (per person)

$50 Adults & $35 children*/students (*7 yo to 11 yo)
